Starbright (2025)
"Starbright" was a spontaneous piece done over the course of a few hours in December of 2025. It was an experiment in underpainting using digital mediums-- in this case, Clip Studio Paint.
Below, you can see the preliminary sketch, upon which every layer afterwards added color and detail. It was done using three shades of brown; a dark, a medium, and a light, and is the only part of the layer structure which consists of wholly opaque shades. Everything on top is made up of lowered-opacity and transparent layer modes, built up to create more detailed depth. Even the linework defining the woman's features is transparent!
